Ukrainian Delegation Visits Bocskai Brigade
Szöveg: honvedelem.hu / bocskaidandar.hu | 2012. december 18. 12:19A Ukrainian delegation of four recently arrived in Kossuth barracks, Debrecen to pay a verification and evaluation visit to the HDF 5th Bocskai István Infantry Brigade in compliance with the European Confidence and Security Building Measures. During their three-day stay the guests were given an insight into the everyday life and activities of the unit. They were received by Brig.-Gen. Gábor Böröndi and Lt.-Col. András Polyák, the acting chief of staff.
In his presentation held for the delegation, Commanding General Gábor Böröndi introduced the organizational structure and the training system of the brigade as well as its role in missions abroad and its cooperation with other nations. The guests watched the weapon and technology display held by the soldiers of the 39th Infantry Battalion and the 24th ‘Bornemissza Gergely" Reconnaissance Battalion, then the 9th-grade military students of the Dennis Gábor College (DGC) held a close quarter combat display under the guidance of the military instructors from the educational department of the brigade.
On the second day of the verification, the guests visited the HDF Vay Ádám Training Base in Hajdúhadház, where Maj. Bálint Legoza, the chief of staff of the Logistic Battalion of the unit introduced them to the base and the training programs conducted there. The evaluators were also introduced to the pool of military equipment at the brigade, its status and utilization, and they went to see the range too.
On the last day of the evaluation visit, Lt.-Col. András Polyák, acting chief of staff gave another presentation on the brigade-related activities, and in farewell greeted the members of the delegation on the occasion of the day of the armed forces of Ukraine.
