Exceptional Troop Rotation and Medal Parade in the Sinai Peninsula

Sentences like „Learn everything you can because you’ll be thrown in at the deep end immediately after your arrival in the area of operations” are uttered over and over again during the pre-deployment training programs.

In the case of the 2013 September troop rotation of the Hungarian contingent in the Multinational Forces and Observers (MFO), which comprises soldiers and policemen deployed in the Sinai Peninsula, the just mentioned “deep end" was even deeper than expected, considering the atrocities that recently occurred in Cairo and the communities in the vicinity of the camp.
