The Months of Donation
Szöveg: HUN PRT-13 PAO | 2013. január 14. 11:11December 2012 and January 2013 are the “period of donation” for the 13th rotation of the Hungarian Defence Forces Provincial Reconstruction Team (HUN PRT-13). This is the period when the local Afghan people most in need of help urgently require the donations sent by aid organizations and all other forms of support. Report form Afghanistan.
We have distributed and are going to distribute in Baghlan Province the aid packages of
two aid organizations, DORCAS AID Hungary (a Dutch aid organization), and AID4LIFE
(Hungarian Reformed Church Aid).
On December 2, 2012 we handed over part of the materials that DORCAS AID had collected
in Hungary, which brought great joy to the 25 small children who are presently living under
the worst circumstances in the local HAWA nursery school. The package included soft toys,
crayons, felt-tip pens, toilet articles, and gift packs for the adults.
In mid-December we handed over a very valuable ultrasound device to the Textile Hospital,
and most of the special health care materials of DORCAS AID – rubber gloves, miscellaneous
pieces of medical equipment, sanitizer wipes and diapers. With the help of the local Shura
leader of Kampirak community, we distributed warm blankets and the winter articles of
clothing such as coats, caps, scarves and boots among the single-parent families and those
of disabled persons that live in the community under the most difficult circumstances.
On January 7 we handed over to the deputy director of the Central Hospital part of the
medical equipment donated by AID4LIFE, such as rollators, wheelchairs, three hospital beds,
crutches, walking frames, rehabilitation chairs, room toilets – and the donation of DORCAS
AID, that is, bedclothes as well as women’s and men’s clothing.
With the help of the head of the Women’s Affairs Office, during the rest of the week the
Provincial Reconstruction Team is going to distribute 200 food packages and the remaining
articles of clothing from DORCAS AID. Most of the AID4LIFE aid packages will be handed
over in January at the official ceremony of the storage building that the PRT built as a central
hospital.
The S9 CIMIC cell would like to take this occasion to thank the leaders of the DORCAS
AID and the Hungarian Reformed Church Aid for the devoted and selfless efforts they have
made to help the Afghan population through the PRT soldiers by means of the several tons of
offered and collected humanitarian material that was transported from Hungary. By this, they
greatly helped the work of the cell and increased the acceptance of the Hungarian PRT.
