Strategic Airlift Capability Supports Exercise Allied Spirit II with Airdrops of Artillery Assets and Troops

Allied Spirit II, a US Army-led NATO interoperability training exercise was held at at the Hohenfels Training Area in Germany from 4 to 24 August. During the second week of the exercise Strategic Airlift Capability C-17s contributed to the exercise by flying airdrop missions – achieving a first for the program, a parachute-assisted delivery of the 4,200 kilogram M777 Howitzer and its 6 x 6 tow truck.

Strategic Airlift Capability Supports the Saber Junction 15 Deployment Readiness Exercise

Saber Junction 2015 is a multinational exercise of NATO member and partner nations led by the United States Army Europe. On Tuesday 24 March the first phase of the exercise began with a deployment readiness exercise and an airborne operation into Romania supported by multiple airlift assets, including a Strategic Airlift Capability Heavy Airlift Wing C-17 long-range cargo jet.

Strategic Airlift Capability Heavy Airlift Wing’s Year 2014

Strategic Airlift Capability Heavy Airlift Wing flight operations for the year 2014 came to a close on 31 December with the SAC C-17 fleet producing nearly 2,900 annual flight hours. During 2014 SAC fulfilled its nations’ requests to provide support to serve both their existing commitments and various new airlift needs.

Eric Howland alezredest nevezték ki a HAW Nehéz Légiszállító Század parancsnokának

Eric Howland-ot, az Amerikai Egyesült Államok Légierőjének (USAF) főtisztjét nevezték ki a Nehéz Légiszállító Ezred (HAW) Nehéz Légiszállító Század (HAS) századparancsnokának. A hivatalos parancsnokváltási ceremóniát július 25-én tartották az MH Pápa Bázisrepülőtéren.

Lieutenant Colonel Eric Howland Appointed as the Commander of the HAW Heavy Airlift Squadron

Lieutenant Colonel Eric Howland of the United States Air Force (USAF) has been appointed as the Commander of the Heavy Airlift Squadron (HAS) of the Heavy Airlift Wing. The official change of command ceremony took place on 25/7 at Pápa Air Base.
