Fifty Years in the Service of Peace

216 peacekeepers, among them 18 Hungarians received the UN Peacekeeping Medal in Cyprus on June 26. This event was equally significant for the Hungarian contingent serving on the island and the UNFICYP mission, because the medal parade was coupled with a ceremony, where the participants commemorated the 50th anniversary of the establishment of the United Nations Peacekeeping Force in Cyprus.
