Szöveg: Béla Révész | 2013. május 30. 9:04The HDF 5th Bocskai István Infantry Brigade held several concurrent training programs in the Bakony Hills during the preparation for the NATO CREVAL. Besides their own training, the personnel of the 24th Bornemissza Gergely Reconnaissance Battalion participated in a cross-training session as well. Working in the area of the Bakony Combat Training Centre, the Hungarians were joined by six soldiers from the French 1st Parachute Chasseur Regiment and another six from the 3rd Marine Infantry Parachute Regiment.
During the long-range and combat reconnaissance exercise, the soldiers landed by parachute
in the area of designated bases. The mission-essential task list included route reconnaissance,
target reconnaissance, combat-like march, operation of a concealed lookout, survival, POW
capture, a raid carried out on a steep hillside terrain with silenced assault rifles as well as a
covert march.
The French senior officers and NCOs were posted to the teams as deputy commanders. As the
two countries’ relevant tactics are the same or very similar, cooperation and teamwork were
excellent. According to plans, the units will hold such combined training programs in the
future too.
