Festival with Surprises

The Tata Garrison Band also appeared at the 6th Richárd Fricsay Regional Festival of Military Bands in Székesfehérvár. The consolidated concert following the shows of formation drills was complemented with two special productions: Kodály Zoltán: “Háry toborzó”, – known to the audience by the title “A jó lovas katonának” was performed by Major Alberto Gonzalez, the Spanish senior officer of the NATO Force Integration Unit (NFIU) stationing in Székesfehérvár; György Kéri the only Scottish piper of Hungary played the “Highland Cathedral” with consolidated orchestral accompaniment, which proved to be a real audience favourite.
