“We have discussed, among others, the ways to increase cooperation in the field of joint training activities and exercises. We can work together in a lot of areas, and in the near future, we will certainly hold exercises with the participation of the Hungarian Defence Forces as well, the deputy chief of staff stated, and said thanks for the “professionally organized" visit.

The host, Brig.-Gen. Dr. Gábor Böröndi, Land Forces Chief, HDF Land Force Command said that although the Hungarian and the German armed forces have a long-standing relationship, it has so far been mainly confined to co-deployment on foreign missions like Afghanistan.

“Our objective is to make this relationship more intensive in the field of training in Hungary. We can have our troops adopt this all-arms approach through their participation in battalion- and brigade-level training programs in Germany. Here in Hungary, we can provide training areas for the joint exercises and also some professionally trained battle groups on battalion and company levels", the chief of the land forces stated.
