Ready for the New Tasks

In accordance with the new task system of the HDF EUFOR Contingent serving in Sarajevo, the handover-takeover ceremony of the contingent commander’s duties and authority took place in Camp Butmir on September 7.

Since September 10, the soldiers of the HDF EUFOR Contingent assigned to the over-the-horizon force have been continuing the mission on stand-by in Hungary. Led by Maj. Péter Fazekas, the commander of the support element, the reception unit that remains in the Joint Operational Area (JOA) is responsible for preserving the equipment, assets and infrastructure of the contingent and maintaining their operational status. In addition, the unit carries out the duties of the National Support Element in the area of Bosnia-Herzegovina.

Speaking at the handover-takeover ceremony, Brig.-Gen. Péter Ernő Siposs, the EUFOR Chief of Staff thanked the contingent led by Lt.-Col. Gábor Bartók for the work it has done over the recent months.
