An American in Tata

Bradley Hocevar, the deputy defence attaché of the United States of America accredited to Budapest recently paid a visit to the HDF 25th Klapka György Infantry Brigade in Tata. During the visit, it turned out that the US lieutenant-colonel had served with the Armor Branch of the US Army.

In the barracks, the diplomat was received by Brig.-Gen. Zsolt Sándor, the commander of the unit, who informed the guest about the functions of the brigade and its mission-related activities.
Lt.-Col. István Hattyár, the commander of the 11th tank battalion of the brigade told the US officer about this subunit. In what followed, the US deputy attaché had opportunity to take a closer look at the T–72 tanks in service with the unit, and the VT–72B armored recovery vehicle (ARV), a real curiosity.
