Change of Command in Camp Novo Selo
Szöveg: Lt. Eszter Jánosi | 2017. november 20. 9:25The handover-takeover of the camp commander’s responsibilities has recently taken place in Camp Maréchal de Lattre de Tassigny, Novo Selo, Kosovo. Lt.-Col. László Szalontai, Senior Officer at the HDF Joint Force Command Logistic Operations Directorate was succeeded by Lt.-Col. Károly Szép, Commander, Logistic Battalion, HDF 59th Dezső Szentgyörgyi Air Base.
The camp commander directly reports to KFOR Deputy Commander Brig.-Gen. János Csombók. The soldiers of 14 nations serving in Camp Novo Selo are assigned to eight NATO organizations. The strongest unit stationed in the camp is drawn from the 17th rotation of the HDF KFOR Contingent (KFOR-17 HUNCON), as the KFOR Tactical Reserve Battalion (KTRBN) which operates directly under COMKFOR Tactical Control is made up of Hungarian troops.
The camp commander is responsible for command and control, the coordination of guard, force protection and security duties, the management of camp infrastructure and the provision of real life support. He performs these duties making sure that the operation of the camp meets the NATO military standards as well as the national requirements.
