Change of Command in the Multinational Battalion

newly appointed chief of staff at the EUFOR HQ honored the event with their presence.
The outgoing and the incoming commanders of the battalion were received by an Honor
Guard comprising Austrian, Turkish and Hungarian personnel of the MNBN. Lt.-Col.
Hartmut Ömer, the outgoing commander of the battalion thanked the soldiers for their
outstanding performance during the exercise, then officially passed the command of the
multinational unit to his successor, Lt.-Col. Alfred Steingress.
In his speech, Maj.-Gen. Dieter Heidecker praised the outgoing commander for his excellent
work done during the last six months, then wished the incoming commander the best of luck
to carrying out the future tasks of the battalion successfully by high professional standards.
