Deployable CIS Module Receives High-tech Asset
Szöveg: Gábor Kálmánfi | 2013. szeptember 21. 12:07The national Deployable CIS Module (DCM-E) recently received from NATO a state-of-the-art CIS asset. On September 10, Minister of Defence Csaba Hende was also present at the capability demonstration of the Limited Interim NRF CIS Capability – Enhanced (LINC-E) system.
The Minister of Defence stressed that the operation of the LINC-E is 100 per cent financed by NATO, but in peacetime it can be used for national purposes too.
Maj. (Eng.) László Dózsa, the commander of the DCM-E said that the LINC-E system is one of the state-of-the-art pieces of equipment; the experiences about its operation are good, and the Hungarian operators are ready for their mission and able to carry it out.
The LINC-E system is in fact a rapidly transportable and deployable CIS complex, which uses a SATCOM link to provide various communications and IT services for NATO commands on different levels during exercises and live operations.
The core mission of the DCM-E is to provide permanent NATO CIS services in the area of operations (or on NATO exercises) for the deployed NATO command post (a brigade- or higher-level organization).
NATO provides all technical assets needed by DCM-E to execute its assigned tasks. These assets include HF (high-frequency) and UHF (ultra-high frequency) radios, relay stations, SATCOM arrays and the required transport vehicles as well as servers, workstations and other terminals.
