German–Hungarian Meeting
Szöveg: TDA | 2016. október 12. 9:00Between 10–11 October – at the invitation of Maj.-Gen. János Huszár, Commander, HDF Joint Force Command –, Lt.-Gen. Martin Schelleis, Chief of the German Joint Support Service Headquarters (JSS HQ) paid an official visit to Hungary, heading a delegation of four.
Lt.-Gen. Schelleis has been Chief of the JSS HQ since last October. The aim of his visit was to continue the bilateral discussions launched by his predecessors in order to further strengthen the German–Hungarian military-to-military cooperation.
The program of the visit started on Monday, 10 October in the Ministry of Defence, where Gen. Dr. Tibor Benkő, Chief of Defence received the delegation on a courtesy call. The guests were informed about the current situation and structure of the ministry and the general staff.
In the afternoon, the program continued at the HDF Joint Force Command in Székesfehérvár, where Maj.-Gen. János Huszár received the high-ranking guest. After a closed-door discussion, the delegations held a plenary session to inform each other about the tasks and functions of the German and Hungarian joint force commands. The Hungarian lecturers described the tasks of border defence and the current status of the NATO Force Integration Unit (NFIU) stationed in Székesfehérvár. The two sides discussed the results of bilateral cooperation and its further possibilities.
During the rest of the day, the delegation visited the HDF Air Command and Control Centre.
