Hungarian General Receives French Legion of Honor

In recognition of his sustained efforts in promoting cooperation between the armed forces of the two nations, the President of the Republic of France awarded the knight degree of the Legion of Honor to Maj.-Gen. Zoltán Pintér, the retiring Air Force Chief of the HDF Joint Force Command (HDF JFC).

The general took over the medal from René Roudaut, France’s ambassador to Hungary in the presence of family members, colleagues and the military attachés accredited to Budapest on Wednesday, October 26.

After 39 years of time in service, Maj.-Gen. Zoltán Pintér is going to retire on November 1. His successor to the post is Brig.-Gen. Albert Sáfár.
