Hungarian Staff Officer Receives NATO Certificate of Commendation

In recognition of his outstanding service, Air Marshal Graham Stacey, Chief of Staff, NATO Allied Command Transformation (ACT) recently awarded a Certificate of Commendation to Lt.-Col. Zsolt Szabó, Capability Requirements Branch Coordination Officer, ACT Staff Element Europe (SEE).

On behalf of the awarding chief of staff, Director of ACT SEE Brig.-Gen. Patrick Boubée de Gramont handed over the certificate of commendation in Mons, Belgium. The certificate praises the Hungarian lieutenant-colonel’s outstanding determination and his professional attitude and skills, underlining that “his exceptional personal commitment for more than three years made him a pivotal element of the conduct of Step 2 of the NATO Defence Planning Process".

Acting as the lead coordinator for the NATO Minimum Capability Requirements and the associated synopsis including the Priority Shortfall Areas, which constitute key inputs of ACT, Lt.-Col. Zsolt Szabó successfully led the development of key tools of the process. The certificate states that his distinctive accomplishments reflect great credit upon himself, Allied Command Transformation and the Hungarian Defence Forces.

The value of the award is further enhanced by the fact that only a few ACT staff members receive this special recognition.
