Joint Blood Donation Together with Soldiers of the Cypriot National Guard

One such civil connection is the charity relationship with a local orphanage, which recently received a washing machine – bought with money raised through voluntary donation – from the Hungarian peacekeepers, to the great pleasure of the orphanage management. The latest event, however, is expected to further strengthen cooperation between the UN and the Cypriot soldiers in the near future, as recently the members of an UNFICYP contingent participated in a joint blood donation together with the personnel of a local military organization in the Larnaca barracks of the Cypriot National Guard. During the event, 25 UN soldiers, including six Hungarians, and about the same number of Greek Cypriot ones volunteered to give blood.
The commander of the Greek regiment also expressed appreciation for the event, and emphasized the importance of humanitarian relations of this type. The next donation, with the participation of Turkish soldiers, is scheduled for the next month, and hopefully, it will take place in a similarly good atmosphere to everybody’s satisfaction.
