In the Balaton Street building of the Ministry of Defence a one-month exhibition by means of ten English language display boards and several mementos typical of the arm demonstrates the history of Hussars from the beginning to the present-day revival of the Hussar heritage.

The exhibition presenting Hungarian Hussar traditions opened on Friday, July 15 in the entrance hall of the building. It was assembled by the MoD Military History Institute and Museum on the occasion of the Hungarian EU Presidency. During the six months of our Presidency the exhibits were on display in the newly renovated Palace “Stefánia", the main venue of the MoD’s Presidency arrangements, but for the period of the Defence Ministers’ Meeting the Royal Palace of Gödöllő hosted the exhibition.

By means of ten English language display boards and mementos typical of the arm, the exhibition demonstrates the history of Hussars from the beginning of the profession to the present day of preserving the heritage of Hussars. It will be open for one month in the Ministry of Defence in order that both the military and the civilian personnel of the Ministry and the visiting guests can see it.

Following this event the exhibits will be on display around the country until the end of this year at various locations connected to the Hungarian Defence Forces.
