Szöveg: HDF PSTC |  2017. május 24. 9:00

The one-week preparation of the International Permanent Instructor Corps is well under way for the 33rd International Military Observer Course (IMOC) at the HDF Peace Support Training Centre, Szolnok.

In accordance with international and national procedures, an International Permanent Instructor Corps is responsible, over the entire duration of the course, for the successful and credible conduct of classroom and practical training sessions on military observer activities. The basic criteria for the selection of trainers are United Nations Military Observer (UNMO) experience and of course, an adequate level of proficiency in English.

Between 15-19 May, the instructors prepare for their lectures and training sessions, and participate in site surveys and drills related to practical exercises.

During the IMOC, the instructors will conduct a number of different classroom training sessions and field exercises, and drawing on their mission experience, will continuously be mentoring and assessing the students’ activities.

Volunteer Operational Reservist Lt.-Col. Gábor Szűcs – a member of the instructor corps since 1997 – told us that the course has changed a lot over the years, but the high professional level of the training continuously ensures that the international group of students can receive modern and practical skills and knowledge based on the instructors’ personal experience and the UN DPKO principles and guidelines. The lieutenant-colonel added that they must already teach the students night patrolling skills as well.

The International Permanent Instructor Corps of the upcoming 33rd International Military Observer Course includes officers from Austria, Finland, Germany and Serbia, and the Hungarian group of instructors consists of active-duty and reservist (senior) officers with mission experience.
