After nearly seven months, two Hungarian advisory groups serving with the Train, Advise and Assist Command – North (TAAC-N) have finished their activities. The advisory groups carried out the tasks assigned to them in the first phase of the Resolute Support mission and successfully supported the 3rd Brigade of the Afghan National Civil Order Police (ANCOP) and the Headquarters of the Afghan Border Police (ABP) 806th zone. In cooperation with Afghan and coalition partners, they organized several training events and achieved significant results in the process leading to attaining full capability of independent operation. The members of the groups had to take up a special challenge because unlike earlier, they did not serve as an independent contingent but rather in individual positions at the TAAC-N. This required them to tighten up cooperation with the staff composed of 20 nations.

In the last days of May, a ceremony was held at Camp Marmal to sign the records of transfer of operational tasks. Col. Gábor Lőrincz, the senior Hungarian officer thanked the soldiers handing over their positions for their work, and wished every success to the commanders of the two incoming advisory groups, Col. Tibor Talabos and Lt.-Col. Zoltán Németh for the execution of the tasks. Col. Lőrincz praised the exemplary preparations for the handover-takeover and its flexible execution on schedule. He pointed out that the troops of the Hungarian Defence Forces deployed in the theatre have a very good reputation, adding that the outgoing groups have set very high standards with their work, and he expects the incoming groups to continue working by the same high standards.
