Training for the Mission in Kosovo

Szöveg: Lt. Csaba Búz |  2016. május 3. 9:00

The 14th rotation of the HDF KFOR Contingent (KFOR-14 HUNCON) held an in-theatre training event in late April for key leaders of the next rotation in Kosovo.

The participants of the in-theatre training and pre-deployment site survey learned about the legal status, mandate and set of tasks of the KFOR mission and the Hungarian contingent within it. The goal of the pre-deployment site survey was to make sure that the soldiers of the next rotation can use up-to-date information and lessons learned in getting ready for the foreign mission. Of course, they have already been familiar with the set of tasks, but they can learn the most about the KFOR service members’ scope of duties while on the site of their deployment.

The key leaders of the KFOR-14 HUNCON held presentations that covered a lot of topics, including the tasks and available means of performing duties, the accommodation conditions and the possibilities for spending free time.

During the site survey, the commander of the next rotation – accompanied by KFOR-14 HUNCON Commander Lt.-Col. Ferenc Huszár – had opportunity to personally meet the commanders of the Multinational Battle Group East Forward Command Post (MNBG-E FCP) and the KFOR Tactical Reserve Maneuver Battalion (KTM).
