Twelfth Hungarian UNIFIL Rotation Completed

Another two members of the 12th rotation of Hungarian army GIS specialists serving with the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL) have deployed in the area of operations.

Capt. Attila Vámos and WO László Horváth have recently arrived in the Lebanon area of operations, thereby making the 12th rotation of the UNIFIL complete at the HQ of the mission in Naqoura, Lebanon. The two outgoing staff officers, Capt. István Veszprémi and WO Norbert Nagy completed their tour of duty and returned home in this month.

Capt. Attila Vámos and WO László Horváth are newcomers to Lebanon, but earlier they already served abroad with UNFICYP in Cyprus. As for the other two members of the Hungarian rotation, Lt. Zoltán Horváth has been serving in Lebanon since the end of October 2016, while 1st Lt. Tamás Eke since the end of October 2017.

Hungarian GIS specialists have been working on the staff of the UNIFIL HQ in Naqoura since 2006, where they provide geospatial support for UNIFIL units conducting peacekeeping operations in South Lebanon, and participate in the Blue Line marking process between Lebanon and Israel.
