Afghanistan Another-View

Afghanistan… or rather “The Stan”… as the American troops call it… the armies of Alexander the Great and Genghis Khan trod on its lands… Mughal, English and Russian empires strove to break its power… Mujahideens, “Soldiers of god”…Taliban, “the eager disciples”… have always been a thorn in the side of any potential Western and Eastern armies… September 11, 2001, the death of the Twin Towers in the West… the sealed destiny of Al-Qaeda in the East… the bombs of a modern war machine have slashed the hideouts of the Tora Bora cave complex… today a multinational medley of ISAF is fighting to maintain peace in the “Graveyard of Empires”… …So far we have ignored the country riding on the crests of the Hindu Kush mountains, a land woven with the threads of the Silk Road… its beauty and magic are not an invisible foe… let us walk walk in the footsteps of our Hungarian soldiers… let us see the world behind the barbed wire… landscapes, cultures, people and lives portrayed differently… another view of… Afghanistan…
