The event marking the 50th anniversary of the Hungarian Defence Forces Joint Force Command (HDF JFC) and its legal predecessor organizations was held on Thursday, August 4 in Székesfehérvár. MoD Administrative State Secretary Lajos Fodor, Chief of MoD Defence Staff Gen. Dr. Tibor Benkő, and HDF JFC Commander Maj-Gen. József Kovács also graced the ceremony with their presence.

On Friday, August 5, a change of command ceremony was held at the HDF CivilMilitary Co-operation and Psychological Operations Centre (HDF CMCPOC) on Salgótarjáni út. In the course of the staff meeting, Col. Csaba Szilágyi took over command of the Centre from Acting Commander Lt-Col. György Pásztrai.

Heroes’ Lot Will Be Renovated

With the financial commitment made by the Ministry of Defence and the work to be carried out by the HDF Ludovika Battalion officer cadets, the graves in the lot of World War I heroes in the Kozma Street Jewish Cemetery, Budapest will be renovated and restored – Minister of Defence Dr. Csaba Hende announced on Tuesday, July 5 in the cemetery.
