In the afternoon of October 21, Defence Minister Dr. Csaba Hende signed an agreement of cooperation with Attila Vén, the mayor of Medina concerning the infrastructural support to the radar project to be implemented at the village. Under the terms of the agreement, until 2014 the Ministry of Defence will pay a total of HUF 100 million as a non-refundable governmental subsidy to Medina in order to finance the infrastructural development related to the construction project. Within 30 days from the agreement coming into force, the village is to receive the first installment worth HUF 25 million.
NATO CMX 11 Started

On Wednesday, October 19 the NATO Crisis Management Exercise 2011 (NATO CMX 11) started in all NATO Member States. The NATO CMX 11 – one of the most important crisis management exercises in the Alliance – ended on October 26, and was designed to practice Alliance crisis management procedures at the strategic political level.

The Hungarian Atlantic Council organised a conference with the title “Our Homeland in the Constantly Renewing NATO”, in the conference room of the town hall in Szombathely, on Thursday, October 13. Starting the School Year in the Szolnok „Military School”

On September 1, the first bell of the school year rang in the branch institutions of the Szolnok Technical Secondary and Trade School. This secondary school is the first one in Jász-Nagykun-Szolnok County where the subject called “military basics” is to be introduced into the curriculum. The opening ceremony was attended by Brig.-Gen. István Szabó Kun, the commander of the HDF Support Brigade and Brig.-Gen. Imre Lamos, the commander of the HDF 86th Szolnok Helicopter Base.
