Under Article 5 of the Washington Treaty, NATO defends its member states against external threats in all circumstances, and the Alliance is grateful to Hungary for its military efforts – this was said at a press conference by Gen. Sir Adrian Bradshaw and Gen. Dr. Tibor Benkő, in Budapest on October 1.

The Estonian Defence Forces are based on professional armed forces, compulsory military service and the all-volunteer Estonian Defence League. Soldiers of one Estonian battalion are deployed in various international military operations around the globe, and there are several NATO-run installations in the area of the country.

Agreement Signed on the Development of Latvian–Hungarian Military Cooperation
