On 14 July, Col. (MD) Dr. László Fazekas was appointed the new director of the NATO Centre of Excellence for Military Medicine (NATO MILMED COE) in Budapest. He takes over responsibilities from the outgoing German director of the institution.

Arms Control Inspectors in Hungary

Representatives from the 26 participating states of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) are paying a five-day visit to Hungary. The official program started on Monday, 27 June in Stefánia Palace – Military Cultural Centre, Budapest.

New Equipment for New Capabilities

The United States considers Hungary a principal partner, and is our main supplier in the field of necessary military equipment and training programs – this was stated on Wednesday, 15 June in Szolnok, where Deputy Chief of Defence Lt.-Gen. Dr. Zoltán Orosz and Maj.-Gen. Mark C. Schwartz, Commander, United States Special Operations Command Europe (SOCEUR) signed an agreement that provides a flexible and effective legal framework for the already ongoing excellent cooperation.

Ohio National Guard State Command Sergeant Major Visits Ludovika Battalion

A delegation of senior enlisted leaders from the Ohio National Guard has already visited a number of military units in Hungary. On Thursday, 7 April the ONG State Command Sergeant Major paid a visit to the HDF Ludovika Battalion.

Combined Exercise for Hungarian and French Scouts

The HDF 5th Bocskai István Infantry Brigade held several concurrent training programs in the Bakony Hills during the preparation for the NATO CREVAL. Besides their own training, the personnel of the 24th Bornemissza Gergely Reconnaissance Battalion participated in a cross-training session as well. Working in the area of the Bakony Combat Training Centre, the Hungarians were joined by six soldiers from the French 1st Parachute Chasseur Regiment and another six from the 3rd Marine Infantry Parachute Regiment.

Range Day on the Hilltop
