European Military Journalists Meet in Berlin

The European Military Press Association (EMPA) held its annual congress in Berlin this year. With the end of a four-year term of office, the association – with several Hungarian military journalists among its members – elected a new president and Board members as well. The event took place on the 25th anniversary of the German reunification.

Hungarian Success at the Italian International Defence Film Festival

The production (film editor: Csaba Forgó) titled “History of Hungarian Military Aviation” made by the Military Film Studio of the MoD Zrínyi Nonprofit Ltd. won first prize in the category “Tradition”, at the professional film competition of the filmmakers in uniform in the town of Bracciano, Italy. Dr. Károly Bozsonyi, the executive director of the company took the award.

Csaba Hende’s Private Visit to Transcarpathia

On Thursday, June 23, Defence Minister Dr. Csaba Hende paid an unofficial visit to Transcarpathia (the Transcarpathian Region of Ukraine) at the invitation of ‘Magyar Művészetért’ (For Hungarian Art) to watch the Rákóczi Ballad ‘Ismét Vereckénél’ (At Verecke Again) by Lajos Gubcsi and László Benkő and to say the words of welcome before the start of its world premiere. During the event the Hungarian politician also met with senior administrative officials, military leaders and mayors of the region, as well as representatives of local Hungarian organizations, churches and NGOs.
