The time has come for the Gripens of Kecskemét to undergo their first major planned overhaul. The first such industrial-level overhaul is carried out on the JAS-39s on completing their 800th flight hour.

Tango Scramble and Air Combat Over Slovenia

The Gripens of Kecskemét carried out this year’s first Air Defence Training Activity (ADTRAC) in the second week of April. This time they were flying under the supervision of the Spanish Combined Air Operations Centre (CAOC, Torrejón), but the flights were still organized by the Italian CAOC-5.

Hungarian Gripen Pilots „Carry Out Strike” on Sweden

This year again, the fighter pilots of the HDF 59th “Szentgyörgyi Dezső” Air Base traveled to Sweden for a week to attend between March 3–8 a tactical simulator training provided under the Gripen contract. The Swedish Defence Research Agency (FOI − Totalförsvarets Forskningsinstitut) runs the annual training in Kista, a district of Stockholm Municipality.
