During his speech delivered at the ceremony on the occasion of 15 March, Lt. Péter Dojcsák talked about the significance of the events that occurred 169 years ago. “Of the revolutionary movements of 1848/49, the Hungarian one was able to defend its social and national goals. When the need arose, answering the call of the nation, farmers, craftsmen, students, teachers and lawyers took arms and joined up, and so the Hungarian Defence Forces were established. The heroes and patriots fighting for a free and autonomous new Hungary included Kossuth, Petőfi and Vasvári. Today we commemorate the heroes, those soldiers who sacrificed their lives for freedom and the homeland", he said.

After the speeches, the ceremony continued with Military Chaplain Lt. Kornél Horváth saying a blessing. In what followed, Contingent Commander Lt.-Col. Attila Budai presented certificates to the soldiers for their outstanding work.
