General’s Visit to Kosovo

Maj.-Gen. Zoltán Mihócza, Chief of Staff, HDF Joint Force Command paid a visit last week to Hungarian soldiers serving in the theatre of operations in Kosovo.

During his visit, the major-general attended the Change of Command ceremony at KFOR HQ, Pristina. General Mihócza presented the “Alliance" Service Medal awarded by the Ministry of Defence to outgoing COMKFOR Maj.-Gen. Giovanni Fungo, and the Silver Grade of the Service Decoration for Merit to Military Advisor Alessandro Graziani.

During his stay in the area of operations, the HDF JFC Chief of Staff attended the staff meeting of the Hungarian KFOR contingent and the soldiers serving in individual positions, and visited the infantry company of the KFOR Tactical Reserve Battalion (KTRBN) in Pec, where the company had deployed to support the troops of the Italian-led Multinational Battle Group West (MNBG-W) in conducting a Cross Training exercise. In accordance with the operational plans, the participants of the exercise specified the tasks related to the security of the Decane Monastery, which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
