A half marathon running race was organized in Sarajevo on September 16. The athletes entered the race on half marathon and four kilometer distances. There were several Hungarian peacekeepers among the competitors standing at the start line.

This year too, traditional half marathon running race was organized in the capital of Bosnia-Herzegovina, and was coupled with a four kilometer “Fun Run" competition this time. There were several Hungarian soldiers serving with the EUFOR mission among those entering the race on the two distances. Many entrants, however, had previously served as peacekeepers in the country, and have now returned to Sarajevo expressly for the sake of the race.

Brig.-Gen. Péter Ernő Siposs, the EUFOR Chief of Staff, Hungarian Senior National Representative was also present at the race to support the Hungarian soldiers entering the competition – that is, the 13 entrants from the EUFOR mission and the five ones from the headquarters.
