International Visit by Command Senior Enlisted Leaders to Hódmezővásárhely

Eszter Dósa | 2016. november 29. 9:00As part of the fourth iteration of the joint Command Senior Enlisted Leader (CSEL) Course International Week, the US command senior enlisted leaders staying in Hungary visited the HDF Great Plain Task Force (GPTF) in Hódmezővásárhely. Of the senior NCOs attending the international week, the US command senior enlisted leaders visiting the headquarters of the HDF GPTF – where they were received by GPTF commander Col. Róbert Kiss – included CSM Sheryl Lion (US Army Europe), CCMSgt. Jack Johnson (NATO ACT) and CCMSgt. Thomas Jones (Ohio Air National Guard).
During the visit, SSgt. Sándor Gombos, the command sergeant major of the 62nd Infantry Battalion, HDF 5th Bocskai István Infantry Brigade held a presentation for the US soldiers on the border protection tasks of the Hungarian Defence Forces and the operation of the GPTF. In what followed, the guests were shown around the tactical operations center and introduced to the functions of the headquarters.
While visiting the transit zone at the Röszke border crossing point, after learning about the entry control procedures, the foreign guests met the soldiers on border protection duty. Their program finished with a tour of the accommodation bases set up at Mórahalom.
In summing up the visit, CSM István Kriston underlined that “a significant portion of the soldiers on duty along the borders consists of NCOs who are carrying out their tasks by high standards, based on their skills and the values formulated in the NCO Creed."
