On Wednesday, February 15 Gen. Dr. Tibor Benkő, the Chief of the MoD Defence Staff, Maj.-Gen. László Domján, Commander, HDF Joint Force Command (HDF JFC), Brig.-Gen. János Huszár, Land Forces Chief and Deputy Commander, HDF JFC and Col. Robert W. Duggleby, the defense attaché of the US Embassy, Budapest inspected the pre-deployment training.

The training objectives are to generate cohesion among the ODAs on a basic level, and to introduce them to each other’s weapon systems, equipment and combat techniques. In the interest of successful training, in last December and early February this year, the ODA leaders traveled to Afghanistan for a pre-deployment site survey so that they can integrate the latest operational experience into the training program. The two ODAs conducted target practices and demolition tasks in the recent days.

Concurrent with the JCET, driving skills practices were held in the military training area of Táborfalva, where the troops of the “Bercsényi" battalion drove HMMWVs (“Humvees").

Last year the Hungarian SOF battalion received 14 Humvees from the United States of America, so that the troops to deploy in the area of operations can master in Hungary the techniques of confident driving for these vehicles under special weather, geographical and operational conditions.
