The traditional medal parade was recently held at the base of the eight rotation of the HDF KFOR Contingent in Camp Slim Lines, Pristina, Kosovo.

Ninety-seven Hungarian soldiers on their first tour of duty in the Balkans Joint Operational Area (JOA) received the NATO medal from Lóránt Balla, Hungary’s ambassador to Kosovo, Lt-Col. Nándor Kiss, Hungarian Senior National Representative and Lt.-Col. Paulo Cordeiro, the commander of the joint Portuguese–Hungarian KFOR Tactical Reserve Maneuver Battalion (KTM). The other soldiers of the contingent received certificates of merit from Contingent Commander Maj. (Eng.) Zsolt Szalai.

Maj. Szalai thanked the soldiers for their work done in the last six months and during their pre-deployment training, and for having deservedly represented the Hungarian Defence Forces in an international environment.

The medal parade ended with a ceremonial lunch, where the chefs of the contingent prepared Hungarian dishes for the soldiers.
