Organized on the US forces’ initiative, the training event, in addition to the Hungarians, also involved the medical staff in Rukla barracks. During the cross-training, the US and Hungarian personnel showed how to take out the injured from ambulances and how to put them in, and also how to move the stretchers inside the vehicles. Besides, the Hungarian soldiers introduced the ambulance in service with the Hungarian Defence Forces and its equipment.

Lt. Martin Tarnóczy serves with the HDF 34th “Bercsényi László" Special Forces Battalion in Hungary. On the exercise, he is the head of the medical cell in the Hungarian contingent. He told us that during the training, they mutually had had opportunities to get to know the new equipment, so everybody learned useful lessons.

Exercise “Baltic Training 2014" has the objective of familiarizing all soldiers with the tactics used by the participating nations and their operational capabilities so they can build interoperability during the training. Last week, the troops drawn from the HDF 5th “Bocskai István" Infantry Brigade executed a live fire exercise, and according to plans, they will conduct FIBUA practice and land navigation in forested areas.
