Szöveg: Lt.-Col. Péter Lukács | 2015. október 5. 13:06September 17 was a particularly important date in the history of the EUTM Mali Mission. On that day, for the first time, Ibrahim Boubacar Keita, President of the Republic of Mali paid a visit to the Koulikoro Training Centre (KTC).
During the visit the president could see the German ROLE-2 hospital facility, as well as the retraining of the Malian battle group GTIA 5 (Groupement Tactique Interarme) and the training sessions of the Company Commanders’ Course. Led by Lt. Ádám Balogh, the Hungarian–Portuguese sniper instructor group held a demonstration exercise for the high-ranking guests.
Currently five Hungarian soldiers are serving with the EUTM Mali Mission – one liaison officer at the headquarters and four trainers in the Koulikoro Training Centre. Since 2013 – the year when the mission started – some 6,000 Malian troops have received training and retraining here.
The lesson delivered to the attendees of the Company Commanders’ Course was about the planning of tactical situations using sandboxes, which earned recognition from the President’s entourage and EUTM Mali Commander Brig.-Gen. Franz Xaver Pfrengle.
