The work of the Hungarian–Portuguese sniper mentor team deployed with EUTM MALI is nearing completion. On this occasion, Lt.-Col. Rainald Hartmann, training chief, Koulikoro Training Centre (KTC) awarded EUTM medals to Lt. Ádám Balogh, SFC Gábor Deregi, SFC Sándor Kovács and SSgt. Norbert Kerekes.

President of Mali Visits EU Mission

New Hungarian Senior National Representative in EUTM

Maj. Dr. Tibor Steiner recently started his service in Uganda, relieving Lt. Dr. Levente Tóth in the legal representative position of the EU Training Mission – Somalia (EUTM Somalia). Lt. Tóth have completed his tour of duty abroad after nearly six months of service, earning the highest recognition from his commanders in Uganda. He has returned to his unit, the HDF 64th Boconádi Szabó József Logistic Regiment of Kaposvár.

Force Commander Recognizes Hungarian Peacekeepers

At a briefing held in late February, Maj.-Gen. Chao Liu, the Force Commander of the UN Peacekeeping Force in Cyprus (UNFICYP) presented certificates of merit to three soldiers of the Hungarian contingent, WO Eszter Szabó, WO Dóra Adamecz and SFC Sándor Nagy, in recognition of their outstanding work.

„Winter Medal Parade” in Cyprus

In line with the winter and summer rotation schedule of the contingents, the traditional medal parade takes place twice a year in the UNFICYP mission in Cyprus. The UNFICYP HQ (Nicosia) hosted the so-called “Winter Medal Parade” on February 23.
