Hungarian Peacekeepers Receive Force Commander’s Commendations

At the ceremony held on August 28, 14 soldiers of Sector 4 – among them four Hungarians, Maj. Dr. Tímea Samu, WO1 Ágnes Horváth, SFC Zsolt Sándor Tóth and Cpl. Tamás Hák – lined up in front of Force Commander Maj.-Gen. Chao Liu to receive the certificates of commendation for their distinguished service during their tour of duty with UNFICYP.

As a duty officer, Maj. Dr. Tímea Samu did an outstanding job in the operations center of Sector 4. Serving as a support NCO, WO1 Ágnes Horváth spared no efforts in carrying out the logistic duties at the Nicosia HQ and in providing the support services for official events. Using his exceptional problem-solving skills in the field of logistics, SFC Zsolt Sándor Tóth performed a dedicated service by high standards which went above and beyond his normal duties in providing day-to-day logistic support for Sector 4 and the Hungarian contingent as well as in organizing official events. Cpl. Tamás Hák carried out his duties in a very professional manner. In all cases, he performed his duties and other assignments selflessly, always seeking the opportunities to improve his comrades’ living and working conditions and to solve the related problems.
