The Hungarian Defence Forces are represented with some 250 troops at the NATO Exercise Saber Junction 2015. For example, the 1st rifle company of the HDF 25th “Klapka György” Infantry Brigade (Tata) has redeployed with BTRs to Germany where, as a maneuver company of a US cavalry battalion, it was training on Tuesday, April 14 for a major engagement next day. (Report from the spot).

As we learned, since the start of the exercise in early April, the Hungarian soldiers from Tata have deployed in two significant “combat missions" beyond academic training, and carried out both with success, although the opposing force (OPFOR) has been performing “quite well" during Exercise Saber Junction.

The soldiers we talked to told us that they were working in smooth cooperation with the American troops, who are quite professional and always ready to help.

There was another major engagement during the Distinguished Visitors’ and Media Day on April 15. While listening to the operational order (OPORD) issuance, it turned out that the Tata troops were tasked to reconnoiter a relatively large and difficult terrain, and drive back an enemy force that consisted of two armored platoons and one rifle platoon.
