Sport Competitions in the KFOR Contingent

The soldiers of the 15th rotation of the Hungarian Defence Forces KFOR contingent (KFOR-15 HUNCON) recently participated in several sport competitions.

The Charlie Company of the KFOR Tactical Reserve Maneuver Battalion (KTM) organized a chess tournament in Camp Slim Lines, Pristina, with the participation of Portuguese and Hungarian troops of the KTM as well as some peacekeepers from Camp Novo Selo. The winner of the tournament was Cpl. Károly Burka, and second and third places also went to Hungarian soldiers.

In Camp Novo Selo, the Delta Company of the KFOR Multinational Battle Group East Forward Command Post (MNBG-E FCP) organized an international Crossfit Challenge competition. The competitors included soldiers from the Hungarian and US companies and from the Danish contingent.

The crossfit competition consisted of quite challenging series of exercises. In addition to the stamina events, endurance, speed and fitness also played a role. Hungarian Cpl. József Kucsák finished in first place, and the soldiers of the US company were placed second and third.
