“Thank you all for having done your job conscientiously while far away from your homeland, under circumstances that are very different from the usual, and for having represented Hungary and the Hungarian Defence Forces deservedly!” – this was how Brig.-Gen. János Huszár, the Land Forces Chief of the HDF Joint Force Command (HDF JFC) welcomed on Wednesday, June 27 the soldiers returning home from missions abroad in the ‘Miklós Zrínyi’ barracks of Hódmezővásárhely.

The “Welcome Home" ceremony for the contingents returning home from missions abroad took place in Hódmezővásárhely on June 27. Held for the seventh rotation of the HDF Operational Mentoring and Liaison Team (OMLT-7), the fourth one of the HDF National Support Element (NSE), the fourth one of the HDF Logistic Mentor Team (LMT), the sixth one of the HDF Air Mentor Team (AMT), the second one of the HDF Mi-17 Air Advisory Team (AAT) and the soldiers who have served in individual positions with the International Security Assistance Force (ISAF), the ceremony was also attended by Brig.-Gen. Dr. Gábor Böröndi, the commander of the HDF 5th ‘Bocskai István’ Infantry Brigade, Brig.-Gen. Imre Lamos, the commander of the HDF 86th Szolnok Helicopter Base and Dr. Péter Kószó, the mayor of Hódmezővásárhely.

Firstly, the commanders of the contingents (Col. Tamás Fürst, Lt.-Col. László Fábián, Lt.-Col. Béla Kerekes, Maj. Zsolt Klement and Capt. Attila Lőrincz) reported to Brig.-Gen. János Huszár. After that, the brigadier-general welcomed the troops on their returning home from the missions. “I am proud of you because it has been shown again that the Hungarian soldiers are able to do their job in a disciplined way on a praiseworthy professional level, working in excellent cooperation with the troops of other countries. Be proud of having served in these missions, which give hope to people who have been suffering from their own history for a long time rather than shaping it!", the Land Forces Chief of the HDF JFC said.
