Austrian Guests in the HDF Military Movement Centre

Rudolf Sturmlechner and Col. Rudolf Ebenberger recently paid a visit to the HDF Military Movement Centre in Budapest. The aim of the meeting was to discuss and further develop bilateral professional cooperation in the field of military movement.
Inside the “Baron Samu Hazai" Barracks, the Austrian guests were received by Brig.-Gen. István Baráth, Commander, HDF Logistics Centre (HDF LC) and Col. József Mogyorósi, Commander, HDF Military Movement Centre (HDF MMC).
On the first day of their visit, the guests were briefed about the organizational structure and functioning of the HDF LC, and then they travelled to the HDF MMC Movement Materiel Storage and Training Division (Táborfalva), where they were introduced to the activities, tasks and functions of the unit.
The topics of the discussions included the use of free transportation capacities offered by the Hungarian Defence Forces, the sharing of road transportation tasks in the KFOR resupply missions, the possibilities of airlift operations and the Austrian contribution to military exercises to be conducted next year.
On the last day of their visit, the Austrian guests were introduced to the scope of missions flown by the C–17 transport aircraft of the Heavy Airlift Wing at the HDF Pápa Air Base.
