Change of Command in Camp Novo Selo

László Szalontai, a senior officer at the HDF Joint Force Command Logistic Operations Directorate recently took over responsibilities from Lt.-Col. Tibor Pálinkás, Chief of Staff, HDF Ludovika Battalion as commander of Camp Maréchal de Lattre de Tassigny (CMLT) in Kosovo.
Besides running the camp, the camp commander is responsible for organizing and overseeing force protection and security tasks, compliance with international regulations, providing accommodation and catering for soldiers, maintenance of facilities and cooperation with NATO organizations.
Troops of thirteen nations are present in the international camp operating under the camp commander. Of all national contingents, the strongest one is the HDF KFOR Contingent, which is manning the KFOR Tactical Reserve Battalion (TACRES Bn) directly under COMKFOR’s tactical control.
Lt.-Col. László Szalontai intends to continue the work started by his predecessors, and to maintain the excellent cooperation that developed over recent years with the nations serving in the camp and the KFOR Headquarters.
