The ministers held informal discussions on key issues in regional defence policy, exchanged opinions about the impacts of reduced budgets on defence capabilities and the possible ways of compensating for these impacts.

The ministers of the six countries also discussed the possibilities of strengthening and deepening the defence cooperation in Central Europe and orienting the work in progress. The items on the agenda of their meeting included the main results of NATO’s Chicago Summit in May, and the combined impact of the change in US strategy and the limited budgets on European security.

Further topics of the meeting included the issues related to the security and stability of the Western Balkans and the Middle East, and the ministers discussed the participation of the six countries in international peace support operations as well.
