First international officer arrives at HUN NFIU
Szöveg: Maj. Gyula Harnócz | 2016. július 6. 14:07On Friday, 1st July, Hungarian NFIU Commander Col. László Garas had the honor to welcome the first international officer arriving at the Hungarian NATO Force Integration Unit (HUN NFIU) in Székesfehérvár, Hungary.
Maj. Antonio Alberto González, a staff officer from the Engineer Branch of the Spanish Army met with the commander and, shortly after the mutual introductions, moved in his office and started getting settled in it. Maj. González comes from the Spanish Army’s Headquarters on Canary Island and has been a military officer for 21 years, filling different positions in the Spanish Army previously. He has a broad experience in the field of military engineering. Here, at the HUN NFIU, he will fill the post of Branch Head of Engineering Ops at the Logistics Directorate. His extensive mission experience includes tours in Iraq, Bosnia-Herzegovina, an earthquake relief operation in Pakistan and another two tours in Afghanistan.
As he stated, Maj. González looks forward to being fully integrated into the international working environment of the HUN NFIU and also into the Hungarian way of life during the very first period of his tour of duty here. He is married and has two sons, therefore he also needs to make arrangements regarding schooling and accommodation for his family with the help of his personal mentor from the HUN NFIU.
