General’s Visit to Estonia
Szöveg: Lt. Viktor Kapás | 2017. augusztus 14. 11:52Between 21–23 July – headed by Brig.-Gen. Gábor Horváth, Commander, HDF 25th Klapka György Infantry Brigade – a Hungarian delegation visited the Hungarian contingent participating in Exercise Training Bridge 2017 in Estonia.
On the first day of the visit, Brig.-Gen. Gábor Horváth had a discussion with Lt.-Col. Janus Andalus, the chief of staff of the Estonian 2nd Infantry Brigade that provides accommodation for the contingent. The lieutenant-colonel introduced his guest to the system of training for NCOs and recruits, and to the Estonian unit and its military equipment in service. After the presentation, the commander of the Tata brigade thanked Lt.-Col. Janus Andalus for the cooperation so far and gave him a memorial certificate featuring the logo of the brigade.
At a staff meeting following the discussion, Brig.-Gen. Gábor Horváth – among other things – talked about the tasks ahead of the unit in foreign missions next year.
The following day the Hungarian delegation attended a technical display and was shown around the training area and range. Its members concluded that the training areas and ranges designated for the contingent provide adequate circumstances for practicing infantry tactical missions and developing the soldiers’ marksmanship skills.
In what followed, Hungarian–Estonian football matches were held with the participation of four Hungarian and two Estonian teams. The Estonian team No. 1 won the competition, and this team had the best goalkeeper too, whilst the top scorer was PV2 András Csomós from the team of the Hungarian 2nd platoon. Brig.-Gen. Gábor Horváth presented certificates to the awardees.
