Gripens in Action
Szöveg: honvedelem.hu | 2013. május 13. 17:00In the morning of Wednesday, May 8, a PA-28 small plane heading from Romania to Venice entered Hungary’s airspace. It transited military airspace en route, but it made contact neither with military nor with civil air traffic control. For this reason, at 09:47 a pair of Hungarian JAS-39 Gripens just flying on a Tango scramble were reassigned an Alpha scramble mission.
The Gripens visually identified the small plane, which subsequently made radio contact with
the air traffic control authority, then left the airspace of the country.
Once again the fighters were scrambled in the interest of protecting Hungary’s airspace and
guaranteeing the security of its citizens.
