Miklós Tajti, the commander of the incoming HDF KFOR-5 contingent signed the transfer of authority (TOA) documents during a ceremony in Camp Slim Lines, Pristina, Kosovo.
Speaking at the event, Lt.-Col. Sándor Szabó expressed his thanks to all those who had devoted their efforts to ensure the smooth redeployment of the Hungarian contingent from Pec to Pristina and its successful task execution in the mission. In what followed, the outgoing commander wished the departing peacekeepers a safe journey back home.
Lt.-Col. Miklós Tajti thanked his predecessor for the preparation and the execution of the relocation, then he was convinced that his unit – in which almost all military organizations of the HDF Joint Force Command have representative forces – would be able to continue keeping up the high professional standards of the fourth rotation and represent Hungary deservedly.
During the days prior to the ceremony, the Hungarian troops had their first serious test. The assigned forces took part in a battalion-level exercise which simulated the real-life events of the previous period, because peace is still fragile in the region of the Balkans.
