Exercises to Strengthen Security
Szöveg: honvedelem.hu | 2019. június 3. 12:11In the organisation of the United States Army Europe (USAREUR) a so-called high-visibility exercise is conducted between 10th May and 24th June in Hungary, Romania, Bulgaria, Slovenia, Croatia and North Macedonia, with an aim to strengthen the stability and security in the Central and Eastern European and the Black Sea region, and to develop the co-operation of the United States and the Allied Forces.
Security is an essential prerequisite of our existence, without it we cannot build a peaceful, predictable future, and one of the key elements of security is the Hungarian Defence Forces. In order to guarantee this security on the highest possible level, we need well-equipped, excellently trained, motivated soldiers and a heartland providing support for them and for their efforts. The Hungarian Defence Forces (HDF) work every day to ensure also for the future the security, in which we can live and work today in Hungary, and the exercises too serve that goal. The joint training conducted with the allied countries demonstrates that we can organise, plan and perform co-ordinated tasks, even on the territory of several countries. The close co-operation of the troops of the participating units is a guarantee for the success of the exercise, which at the same time largely enhances the social acceptance of the Hungarian soldiers.
Black Swan 2019 Special Operations Forces Exercise (SOFEX) taking place between 2nd June and 21st June, is organised – besides the Hungarian Defence Forces – by the US Special Operations Command Europe (SOCEUR) and the United States Army Europe (USAEUR). The Hungarian forces will lead the multinational special operations component command, subordinated to which the Hungarian and international special operations forces will do training exercises with the involvement of the land forces and the elements of the navy and the air force. The HDF special operations capability intends to play a leading role in the region, that’s why a Regional Special Operations Component Command (R-SOCC) is operated in Szolnok. The Command is directing special operations of full spectrum, simultaneously, in the territory of several countries in a close to real-life environment.
Exercise Soft Caps 2019 takes place from 6th May – 12th June. The US-led Multinational Civil-Military Co-operation Centre relocated from Grafenwöhr, Germany to Ócsa, where the civil-military co-operation (CIMIC) activities supporting the summer series of national exercises are co-ordinated. Through contacts, by mutual information gathering and by building out supporting relationships, the Centre’s experts develop an overall picture about the civil and information environment, otherwise covered with difficulty by the classic military capabilities, with an eye to support the Commander’s work, the preparation of his decisions, and the establishment of the mutually supporting civil environment.
Services (drinking water, diesel fuel, the collection and transport of municipal waste, etc.) provided in the framework of the host nation support are connected to the real tasks supporting the reception, stationing and movement of the forces.
